We provide a platform for surrogates and intended parents to connect and explore potential matches. Our program includes surrogate pre-screening and criminal record checks, access to educational resources, referrals to trusted professionals and coordination as needed, comprehensive expense management, and ongoing case support throughout the entire journey.
Once intended parents sign a contract to work with us, a Seed Trust account is established in their name. In accordance with the contract terms, the agency fee and a $2,500 refundable deposit are transferred to this account. After a match is confirmed and the surrogacy contract is signed, it is uploaded to your secure portal. We then reimburse expenses in line with the contract, collecting the receipts monthly and arranging reimbursement via wire transfer. Intended parents have 24/7 access to the portal to view account activity and documentation at any time.
For inquiries about joining our agency, we can be reached toll-free at 1-800-546-1820 or by email at hello@truematchsurrogacy.ca. We recognize that our clients are located across different time zones and have individual communication preferences. Surrogates may connect with their coordinator by text, phone, or email, and we work with intended parents using the platform that best suits their needs.
Working with an agency provides structure, guidance, and support throughout a complex process. Agencies help screen and prepare surrogates, coordinate medical and legal steps, manage expenses, and ensure clear communication between everyone involved. While independent journeys can be successful, they require significant time, knowledge, and coordination from both parties, and it is important to be mindful of potential scams when proceeding without professional oversight.
Our team offers firsthand expertise in supporting international intended parents through the complexities of surrogacy, and in partnering with a range of fertility clinics across Canada.
Like any pregnancy, surrogacy involves medical risks, and in rare cases complications could affect your ability to have more children in the future. For this reason, it’s important to feel comfortable with the possibility of not expanding your own family before deciding to become a surrogate. We encourage you to discuss these risks with your physician or fertility clinic so you can make an informed and confident decision that feels right for you.
Your partner must be willing to go through this process with you, including medical and psychological assessments and the legal requirements. Their emotional and physical support is essential throughout this journey.
Absolutely. We take the time to understand what matters most to you in a match, and you always have the final decision about who feels right. If none of our current intended parent(s) are a good fit, we’ll actively look for the right match based on your preferences to help you find your true match.
Yes, you can. Typically, intended parent(s) reimburse expenses related to medical appointments, such as travel, lost wages, meals, and childcare. All of this is clearly outlined in your contract, so everyone knows what to expect.
Birth control or Lupron shots are used to regulate and schedule your cycle. Estrogen (pills, patches, or injections) prepares the uterine lining for transfer. Progesterone—via injections, suppositories, or capsules—is essential for supporting a healthy pregnancy. Low-dose aspirin may be included to optimize your results.
At the heart of every surrogate’s decision to undertake this journey is compassion. The path that leads someone to surrogacy is often deeply personal and unique. Many surrogates have witnessed the challenges of infertility through someone they know, while others are inspired by the joy they experienced in building their own families and wish to offer that same opportunity to others. Above all, surrogates are motivated by a genuine desire to make a meaningful difference in the lives of intended parents.
Our team works with you to identify your priorities and create a personalized profile. This profile is shared across social media and with surrogates in our program, while you review current surrogate profiles. Both intended parents and surrogates have complete choice in selecting their match.
Timing can vary depending on your matching criteria and other individual factors. We strongly recommend having embryos created prior to beginning the search for a surrogate, as this can influence a surrogate’s decision to move forward and may impact matching opportunities.
While we do not offer these services directly, we are happy to refer you to reputable Canadian egg and embryo donation providers.
Yes, we would be happy to provide a list of psychologists and fertility clinics in your area. You may also choose to self-refer at any time.
The level of contact after birth is based on the preferences of both the surrogate and the intended parents. Many maintain a warm, ongoing relationship, while others choose more limited communication. These expectations are discussed early and outlined in the legal agreement, so everyone feels comfortable and respected.
Intended parents may use embryos created in their home country or work with Canadian fertility clinics to create embryos locally. Clinics will coordinate medical records and regulatory requirements to safely facilitate cross-border treatment.
Canada allows intended parents from around the world to pursue surrogacy here. There are no citizenship or residency requirements to work with a Canadian surrogate, and many families choose Canada because of its supportive legal framework and high standard of medical care.
Surrogates are supported by experienced professionals throughout the process, including medical teams, counsellors, and legal advisors. Many programs also provide peer support and ongoing guidance to ensure surrogates feel informed, valued, and cared for at every stage.
Timelines vary based on matching preferences, medical readiness, and clinic schedules. On average, finding the right match can take several months, followed by medical preparation, embryo transfer, and pregnancy. Many journeys take 18–24 months from the start of matching to birth.
Committed to elevating the standards of surrogacy in Canada.
